Cost Consulting is a cloud-based platform that helps legal cost consultants draft, manage, and tax Bills of Cost. The system handles tariff calculations, bill generation, invoicing, workflow tracking, and management reporting - all in one place.
Before Cost Consulting, drafting a single Bill of Cost could take two or three days. Practitioners were working from printed tariff books, managing matters across spreadsheets, and generating documents manually. We built Cost Consulting to change that.
Since launch, the platform has been used across more than 40 firms nationwide, and has supported the drafting of over 80,000 bills covering more than 120,000 matters. Our users range from sole practitioners to multi-office practices with several consultants.
Cost Consulting is purpose-built for the South African legal system. It supports the tariff structures of the High Court, Magistrate's Court, and other jurisdictions, with tariff tables maintained and updated by us when new tariffs are published. The platform is fully bilingual - English and Afrikaans - across the interface, tariff descriptions, and generated documents.
All data is hosted securely in South Africa and never leaves the country. The platform is designed in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Daily secure backups ensure that your matters, bills, and client records are always recoverable.
